PUBG Mobile India likely to be renamed to Battlegrounds Mobile India, suggests latest leak

The Indian version of PUBG Mobile was popularly called "PUBG Mobile India" a few months ago but new details suggest that the name of the game will be changed to "Battlegrounds Mobile India" in the future. Gemwire gained this new information while browsing the source code of the official PUBG Mobile India website.

PUBG Mobile was banned in India in September and shortly thereafter, PUBG Mobile India was announced as a replacement for the global version. This new theme is specifically designed for Indian fanbase, similar to existing games such as PUBG Mobile KR and Game for Peace, the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile.

Following the announcement of PUBG Mobile, a new website and media handle for the game appeared on the internet. The background image of this website shows the message "PUBG Mobile India, Coming Soon" and contains a variety of different Indian diyas. Gemwire conducted new research on the website and found significant changes made to the background image. Their team analyzed the source code and found links to new creative assets added to the website.

A new poster has been discovered on the website of the former PUBG Mobile India's headlights. According to him, the name of the local version was changed to 'Battlegrounds Mobile India' in that image. The message "Coming Soon" was also included next to the name. This could be another private video in their Vimeo collection with a new icon.

This change could mean that PUBG Mobile India is being renamed Battlegrounds Mobile India. The significance of this potential change would not have been considered at this time but after the recent trailer leak from PUBG Mobile India's social media platforms, it can be assumed that PUBG Mobile India is making a new change.
